EXCLUSION FROM THE UNIT: Anyone not defined as employees above are excluded from the unit, including, but not limited to:

All employees defined by HEERAHigher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act: HEERA is a 1979 California law that established collective bargaining for employees of the UC (and other state universities). as managerial, supervisory and/or confidential;

2.

All employees of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory;

3.

All employees in title code CWR003 - Visiting Student Res-Graduate;

4.

All positions that are exclusively represented at the time of this petition;

5.

All staff positions covered by the University of California Office of the PresidentUC Office of the President: The UC president is the head of the entire UC system. The current UC president is Michael V. Drake. Personnel Policies for Staff Members; and

6.

Students who receive funding, including financial aid awards, to pursue a course of study with no or de minimisDe minimis: Definition: "Lacking significance or importance: so minor as to merit disregard." For workers on fellowships, "de minimis service" disqualifies them from joining the union, per Article 1 of the 2022-2025 GSR contract. service expectation imposed by the University, and whose receipt of these funds does not require the performance of service at the direction and control of the University.
